Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) is one of the most efficient service providers of the nation and flaunts the national flag on its wide range of aircraft. A number of industry experts have acknowledged the high standards of the in-flight amenities and other services offered by it. Its Frequent Flyer Programme – KrisFlyer – is rewarding and allows people to use the airport lounge, upgrade as well as a number of other free services.

KrisFlyer

Passengers can earn KrisFlyer miles by travelling with any of the partners, subsidiaries or carriers that share code with the airline, apart from Singapore Airlines flight ticket booking. These include members of the Star Alliance, a few of hotels and car hiring companies. Tourists can opt for flight and hotel packages while visiting a new place with hotels listed in the beneficiary of this elite membership. Apart from this, they can also earn some points that can prove to be of great importance for seat class upgrade or other services.

As soon as travellers apply for membership, they are given the KrisFlyer status. Their status is upgraded to Silver Elite after scoring 25000 miles, which is equivalent to around 40000 km of flying distance in total. However, they have to wait for a year to get the upgrade as per the norms of the carrier. When these points are doubled, which is 50000, travellers get access to the services provided to Gold Elite members. Apart from this, the Passenger Priority Service (PPS) is given to travellers who manage to accumulate $25000 (Singapore) of PPS value in a period of 12 months. They get priority check-in, Economy Class and baggage handling service.
